G.K. Chesterton once wrote, "Fairy-tales do not tell children that dragons exist. Children know that dragons exist. Fairy-tales tell children that dragons can be killed." It is a helpful reminder when surveying the news, it seems. The dragons seem to do an awful lot of the winning these days, but it doesn't have to be that way. Edmund Burke said, "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." Heed the cries of the innocent; do your part to kill the dragons.

I love that Chesterton quote. That is amazingly profound. Reminds me again of all the good reasons to read fairy tales and literature to....everyone. Hey we all KNOW the dragons are real it is just so *hopeful* to read about them being defeated. One of the young ladies at the Common Room recently had a great post on a similar line about how C.S. Lewis(in particular) fiction helped her to see and understand the *real* Jesus better than all the smarmy little books usually read to children. It was only a few days back but they post so often over there I couldn't locate it quickly

That was the quote from Criminal Minds on Wednesday... and you pretend not to like that show, hehehehe.
