A surprisingly good secular article on Easter. The politics are clearly a little lacking--I don't think you can equate the humiliation of wearing women's underwear on your head (something college freshmen do by choice every year) with having long sharp thorns driven into your skull. The point was not humiliation but pain. Nevertheless James Martin does offer a thought-provoking analysis of western culture and the holidays we choose to celebrate and what more can one ask for? Other than a million dollars or to be king of one's own country. Happy Easter, everyone!
